# Create Your First Alert

In this tutorial, we're going to show you how to create your first alert using the OptimizeUrgency plugin.

To get started, click on the **OptimizeUrgency** link on the WordPress Admin sidebar.

You will be greeted with the main **OptimizeUrgency Dashboard**. 

Here you will be able to create a new alert by either clicking on the **Plus icon** or the blue **Create New Urgency Alert** button.

Clicking on either option will open up a window with a list of urgency boxes to select from.

Once you've selected your alert box and given it a name, click the blue **Create & Continue** button to confirm.

Your alert box will now be created and will show on your main dashboard that you can now begin to edit and complete.

**Please Note:** If you would like to delete your alert, you can always do so by clicking on the small Dustbin icon on the top left of your alert.
