Why do I see Tax/VAT on my invoice or at checkout when purchasing OptimizePress?

As a UK registered company, we are required by law to charge VAT/Tax on any purchase from individuals or companies in the UK. If you’re purchasing through a VAT registered UK company, you would normally claim the tax back through your accounting processes (we will generate a VAT invoice upon purchase).

If you are purchasing from within the EU, we are required to charge VAT/Tax at your country’s sales tax rate for purchase from individuals (non-company purchases).

If you are purchasing through a tax/VAT registered company from an EU country and have a valid EU Tax ID, you may enter this information on our checkout form and the sales tax will be removed as per the EU Reverse Charge rules.

If you see tax charged on our checkout and you are based outside the UK and EU, please ensure you have correctly entered and confirmed your address is outside the UK/EU, and tax should be removed.

If you are renewing your OptimizePress license and need to change this information, this can usually be done inside the members hub billing screen at https://my.optimizepress.com/profile/me/edit

If you have further questions regarding the tax you see at checkout, please do contact our team. For tax management questions, we do recommend consulting your tax advisor.
