Template Override Feature

The Template Override Feature will let you erase your pages content completely and start over with a fresh template. This can be helpful for many reasons, such as wanting to just start over with a fresh new look on a page, or to replace the page with a new one that you want to create.

An example of this is with the OptimizeMentor course builder. If you decide that you don’t like the template you started with, you can start over fresh with selecting a new template.

WARNING: As soon as you choose a new template for the existing page, the existing pages content will be DELETED. You will be starting with a fresh template. Be sure to make a copy of your text if you want to keep anything.

Step 1: Launch the editor

Open the OptimizePress Builder and save any content you don’t want to lose (if you need to right click to copy text, just hold the SHIFT key down on your keyboard while right clicking so you can access the right click menu of the browser).

Step 2: Choose your new template

To choose a new template for the page, simply navigate in the Builder to “Settings > Override Template” and click the blue “Override Template” button.

When you click the button, you’ll see the template library where you can select the new template.

When you hover over a template, and you want to use the template, just click the “Use This Template” button. As soon as you do this, the selected template will be loaded in place of your previous content that you had on the page.

Restore the page back to previous version

If you don’t like the result, you can always restore a revision if there is one saved. Just go back to “Settings” and click “Revisions” and then you can choose a date and time to restore the page back to.

The page revisions feature settings are available under “OptimizePress > Settings” in case you want to modify how many revisions are saved (note that we don’t recommend saving more than 5 revisions unless your hosting has sufficient database space).

If you have any questions about how this feature works, please reach out to our support team and they’ll be happy to help.
