One key element of any forms where you need to collect phone numbers, is the phone input field. In OptimizePress, we have added a new feature in our phone input field which not only help users provide accurate information but also enhances the overall usability of your website.
In this guide, we’ll walk through the process on how to enable the state validation feature of the phone input field in your forms.
NOTE: This applies to optin and contact forms that you have in your site. By default, all phone input fields are text field with no validation. To use state validation, you need to enable this feature as illustrated herein.
Enable the Phone Field Validation
To enable the state validation of the phone input field, go to OptimizePress >> Settings >> Advanced.
Then scroll down a bit to find the International Telephone Input options. Just toggle or switch the button ON to enable this feature in your forms.
Once switched ON, a state validation will then show in the optin or contact form within your site.
Change Default Country
As a default setting, the primary countries available for selection are the United Kingdom and the United States. If you wish to choose a different country, simply make your selection from the available options.
Phone Field CSS Selector
The phone field CSS Selector can be modified here if your CRM uses a different name for the phone field. If other options above are turned on and your phone field validation is not showing, you may need to change this from the default setting.
This may be somewhat advanced if you are not familiar with how to find the CSS selector for the phone field. Our team are happy to help with this if you are not able to find this and your phone field validation is not working as described above.
