The Mega Menu element is coming soon. Stay tuned to our latest product release updates and our changelog for updates on this new element release.
What is a Mega Menu?
A Mega Menu is a menu which has at least some links where a large dropdown panel appears when clicking on a menu item. The menu item dropdown panel has the ability to include OptimizePress elements, such as login forms, optin forms, post list element, or one of many other elements.
Within the OptimizePress Mega Menu element, each menu item can trigger a normal link, a popup overlay, jump to another element, or any other link actions that are available on button elements. You can also trigger the Dropdown for each Mega Menu Item if you want, which allows you to include other elements as mentioned above.
This works different than the WP Menu Element as you do not have to create a WordPress Menu, making this element easier to use.
Add the Mega Menu Element to Your Page
To add the element, just click on the + icon or “+ Element” in the top left of the screen, and type “Mega” in the element search. You’ll then simply drag and drop the element into the spot on the page where you would like to have it.

Once you add it to your page, you can select a style for the Mega Menu on the left sidebar like you see here (more will be added later).

Mega Menu Ready Made Sections
You can also add the Mega Menu element by choosing from a pre-made section as well

Activate the Mega Menu Dropdown
Each item in the Mega Menu by default would not have the dropdown activated. To activate the dropdown, follow these steps:
1) Click on the menu item you wish to activate the dropdown for. You’ll then see the toolbar for that menu item
2) Click the Menu Item Icon (with the 3 horizontal lines).

3) Then click the “Action” tab, and choose “Dropdown” for the mega menu action.

Once you do that, you’ll see the Mega Menu item’s dropdown available to edit. You can add/remove elements like you would with other rows or columns (the area in the image below with the dark background is the mega menu item’s dropdown.

The next tab on the Mega Menu Item will also let you control the size and scope of the dropdown.

Editing Content Within the Mega Menu Dropdown
To add new elements to the Mega Menu, you’ll drag the element on top of the menu item you want to add the element to, then the dropdown will appear and you can drop the element directly into the spot you want just like any other row or section.
Here are some ideas on what to use the content area in the dropdown for.
- If you have a membership site, you can put a signup or login form there.
- Use it for an optin offer
- Add the post list element to showcase your most recent posts (we suggest limiting to 3 posts)
- Add some videos to showcase your services or digital products
- Add testimonials from your customers
- Add a contact form to allow visitors to contact you without even leaving your homepage.
There are endless possibilities of what you can use this for. Think of ways to save your visitors some time.
You don’t have to use the Mega Menu element at the top of the page either. You could use it anywhere in your OptimizePress page.
