Creating & Managing Coupons

In this tutorial, we’re going to show you how to create coupons and how to add them to your products for your customers to use.

Creating a Coupon

The first step is to head over to OptimizeCheckouts > Coupons. This will take you to the main coupons dashboard.

Click on the blue Create Coupon button to begin the process of creating a new coupon.

A popup window will appear with a list of options and fields to begin filling in.

Give your coupon a memorable Coupon Code followed by a coupon Description.

You will be prompted to select an expiry date for your coupon to run for a specific duration. For this example, we’ll be keeping this selection blank.

Set the Coupon Maximum Redemption, which is the number of times the coupon can be used.

Select your Discount Type using the dropdown. You can either choose a Fixed Price or a Percentage, which discounts your product by a set price or a percentage.

For this example, we’ll select Percentage.

Next, assign your coupon to a product by clicking on the Select Products dropdown and adding the products you would like the coupon to work with.

When you’re happy with your selection, click the blue Create Coupon button.

Your coupon should now be listed in the main coupon dashboard area.

Adding your checkout form coupon field.

The next step is to ensure the coupon field is included in your product’s checkout form.

Open your checkout page and click on the checkout form element on your page.

Click on the small Link icon on the Checkout Form toolbar followed by the blue Checkout Options button.

This will open the checkout form product options. Head over to the next section to include Checkout Form Fields and ensure the Coupon field is included.

Click the green Next Step button and finalise the changes.

The coupon field should now be displayed on your checkout form.

Finally, test your coupon by inserting the coupon code in the coupon field provided.
