When creating a blog post, you may have noticed the blue “Edit with OptimizePress” button. You can create blog post content with OptimizePress, but you’ll want to be aware of some of the options you have available to you.
Firstly, we do recommend using the “Default” template if you want to maintain the design of your theme, and use the OP Builder just to create the post content
Or while editing the content in the OP Builder you can go to Page Settings and change the template there as well
There are three templates to choose from.
- Default template will use your existing theme’s header, footer, and sidebar(s).
- Full Width template will only use your existing theme’s header and footer
- Blank template will not use anything from your existing theme’s design and will only be built 100% with the OP Builder. This option is less desirable as there is a lot more work to do to build blog posts.
If you would like to do a custom design like we have on the OptimizePress Blog, you could do that, but you’ll need to take a few extra steps such as using custom post excerpts as well as adding the WP Comments element in order to add the comments section to your posts. Here is a video to show you how to get started with making a blog post similar in design to the OptimizePress Blog.
